You might need an extra LAN cable of CAT-5 at least.
If you mean a wireless network connection - you should buy a WiFi adapter (USB or PCI or PCI-e), install it in your computer and then set-up a new network connection. If you mean wireless as no-cable-power - there is a problem. Desktop computer uses much more power than laptop and no battery can power it for a time longer than few minutes.
Yes, and you can connect many more devices. The router should have at least 4 ethernet ports to connect to. And/or you can connect wireless also. If you have more then 4 wired devices then you can use a 4, 8, or 16 port ethernet Switch to connect to the Router. Myself I have 3 desktops (wired), 3 wireless and 1 wired laptops, an X-Box 360 (wired), a Wii (wireless), a BlueRay player (wireless) and a Brother laser printer (wireless) connected to the router. (1 desktop, 1 laptop and the X-Box are hooked to the Router and the rest of the wired devices are connected to an 8 port ethernet Switch which is connected to the Router.)
Yes, you can. You need to get a wireless adapter which you can get now for $20-30 and more with free shipping. Install it and have with wireless networking.
What do you mean? On a Game Boy, On a Nintendo DS, on a computer, laptop, T.V. I don't really no this stuff. I am only a Nintendo DS expert. Any questions on that?? -Scabs If you are connecting your desktop computer to a wireless router, then you will probably need a wireless adapter. Most laptops today have wireless cards built into them so that you don't need to buy an adapter and you can pick up a signal from any wireless router.
If you have broadband, plugging another computer into the router will have no effect. If you still rely on Dial-Up, then it will cost more. For easier access, buy a wireless dongle for your computer to connect it to your router with ease.
For Every Wireless Modem router you need what's called a usb wireless adapter. It will work for every laptop but I'm not sure bout a desktop but buy one that has 2gb or more.
With wireless networking, you will need a wireless router and a wireless computer. Cisco is a good wireless router that is low cost and is easy to set up. There are many more name brands to choose from as well.
Wired internet is where a physical wire is connecting you to the internet, such as a Ethernet cable going into the Ethernet port on the back of your computer. Wireless internet uses digital radio signals in the air to transfer data from a wireless router to a computer with a wireless adapter (built in or external)
Yes. There are loads of different ones on the market, from internal ones to external ones. Personally I recommend external USB ones. Internal ones are good too, but take up a PCI slot thatcould be given to something more worthwhile. Most home users cant install them. And, if and when you get a second desktop, you cant share the device.
it sells
wireless modem is called wirelss modem because it has a wireless router built in. people use wireless routers because their modem doesn't have a wireless router built in. you can buy a modem with wirelss router built in it, thus save space
yes as long as you have a router the router will allow for more than one computer to get an ip address and distribute them through the switch allowing for more computers to connect to the internet
