Mexico DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE INSURANCE, BUT ONCE YOU CROSS OVER THE BORDER YOUR AMERICAN INSURACE WILL NOT COVER YOU. IT IS USUALLY SAFE TO GO OVER THERE FOR A SHORT TIME BUT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO COVER YOURSELF JUST IN CASE, BOTH SIDES HAVE WHERE YOU CAN PURCHASE INSURANCE FOR ONE DAY AND IT'S CHEAP. MAYBE AROUND $25 OR SO.
