I assume you mean the automatic Transmission Fluid?
Peugeot automatic gearboxes are "sealed for life" and *they state* you need only to "top-up" the transmission fluid.
However, ask yourself, what do Peugeot define as "life"? It's probably 10 years. In which case, I would much advise to get the transmission fluid changed, it's not too difficult and can be done yourself if you pick up a haynes manual.
Unfortunately, as the gearbox is "sealed for life", you can't change the gearbox fluid filters.
A parts car like yours with an automatic transmission.
To change an automatic galant to a 5-speed, you need a Computer for the Manual transmission of that year, and an engine.
Check fluid level May need fluid and filter change May need transmission overhaul
the automatic transmission don't need the fluid to be changed never if you change the fluid with a new one you going to lost your transmission
On my 2000 automatic 4WD, I have to drop the pan to change it. It is designed as a sealed transmission and is not supposed to need changing all that often.
You will need to specificate your problem, is it a manual or automatic gear box
typically it is done around 100,000 miles. If it doesn't have a sealed transmission (which the metro doesnt) you should change the fluid.
Yes it could. If you put power steering fluid in the transmission you need to change the transmission fluid.
Did you use the right transmission fluid or did you forget to maintain your transmission otherwise, your gears are broken and needed to be replaced.. chances are you need a new transmission.
to bypass the computer, u need to change the carburettor, the distributer the coil and if its automatic, u need to change the transmission
Check the transmission fluid first to make sure that its full. If the transmission is high mileage then it might need a filter and fluid change. If the Filter is ok then the transmission might need a rebuild.
If you have a automatic transmission you need never change it as it is factory sealed for life. One less job to do. Peter
