Normally, the supercharger will pull oil from the engines oil pan meaning that when you change the engine oil it also changes the oil in the S/C. However, the supercharger may have either its own reservoir or have an independent drain of its own.
Due to the high temperatures this part may incur, I recommend a change when you change the engine oil sense the part is so expensive to replace and it has such strain placed on it.
Yes, you will need to change exhaust manifolds, exhaust tubing and intake tubings.
You will need to remove the front engine cover, on your 1997 Pontiac Bonneville, in order to change the supercharger belt. Loosen the tensioner pulley to remove the belt.
Open and read your owner's manual. Most superchargers utilize engine oil for lubrication, as opposed to self-contained supercharger lubrication. If that is the case with yours, which I think you will find it is, then changing the engine oil/filter is all you need do. Correction: GP Supercharger uses a separate oil from that of the engine. Read the manual, check out Grandprix owners groups like ClubGP and GrandPrix.net.
Any supercharger should only be installed by a competent mechanic to avoid destroying your engine.
Do not spray any cem. into the supercharger. This will strip the teflon coating on the supercharger rotors. However you do need to change the oil out in the supercharger. There is a little plug located by the pulley. It is a hex bolt and you need to undo it and then suck the oil out of it. You will then need to fill the oil back up just below the plug. Make sure you use the special supercharger oil called. "Supercharger oil" from GM. Thank you, From www.SuperchargersOnline.com
your engine should still work but you will need to buy a new belt
To increase the horsepower of a diesel engine you need to put either a turbo charger or a supercharger on it. Cold air intake will also help.
i need to see the chart on how the belt gose on my supercharger
Trade for a 1995 thunderbird supercoupe. Major engine mods for the 4.6
It Depends on how much more Horsepower you want. If you want alot more horsepower go with the Turbo, but if you want a little go with the supercharger. If you want to install a turbo you going to have to do little engine work to prevent your engine from blowing, installing a turbo can be expensive. Installing a supercharger doesn't need to much engine work, but can be cheaper than a turbo. It all depends how much time and money you want to spend.
Yo can not "change" an engine code. You need to repair what is causing the code.Yo can not "change" an engine code. You need to repair what is causing the code.
You need to make sure that there is not a o-ring stuck on the engine block from the old filter. sometimes the old gasket will stick to the engine block when you change the oil filter and it will leak everytime. If you don't find the problem there, then you will need to ask your question again.
