Imrpoved: Many older computers, and some unusual architectures without AHCI and other power-saving features, do not turn off automatically when you shut down. When the PC comes to a screen that says 'It is now safe to turn off your computer', a screen most users no longer see, you must press and hold the power button until the computer is off. This usually takes 10-15 seconds, just hold it until it is off. If, after a full minute, the computer is still on? This indicates a hardware problem. Please see a computer technician for repair.
