How do you replace the outer cv boots on a 1995 Hyundai XL?

If you can't get a generic split boot kit, you'll have to pull the drive axles (not a lot of fun.) BRIEF instructions: 1. Drain the ATF 2. Loosen lug nuts on the side you need to replace 3. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the axle nut 4. Jack up the car and pull the tire Some folks have figured out how to skip the next two steps on the long axle side, but I'm not Houdini. 5. Remove the lower ball joint nut 6. Using a 2 jaw puller, separate ball joint from the spindle 7. Pull the driveaxle away from the backside of the spindle 8. Carefully pry the driveaxle out of the tranny. Don't drive the prybar in over a 1/4 inch or you may damage the seals on the tranny, just work with it until it comes out. Don't pull on the axle, you can damage the inner CV joint. Also, be careful not to lose the c clip on the tranny end of the driveaxle. (I would recommend replacing the driveaxle seals regardless, Auto Zone charged me $12 for a pair of Timkens.) You may want to replace the lower ball joint if it's worn or has a damaged boot, it's just two more bolts and about $30.

How do you change front passenger drive axle on Plymouth Breeze 97?

jack the car up and support the right front side under the body. remove the tire, brake caliper, the abs sensor if any. Next remove the carter pin, remove the spring washer, and then remove the large nut. I think it is 1 1/4 in should do the trick. Next take a punch and center it on the cv shaft and strike it with a hammer to remove the tension on the splines between the cv shaft and rotor drive flang. You will know it worked when you can push in the center shaft where you removed the nut from. Now remove the carter pins form the upper ball joint and the lower ball joint. Now remove the nuts on the outer tire rod end, the upper and lower ball joint. Next separate the tirerod from the knuckle arm and place a jack under the lower control arm to support it. Then separate the upper ball joint and the lower ball joint last. Now you can remove the spindle with the rotor attached from the car. You should be able to pull the cv shaft out without a problem. To assemble just do in reverse.

How does one remove the ball joint from the knuckle on a 1998 corolla?

There is a striking surface (flattened or machined area) on the knuckle on the outer diameter of the ball joint contact surface. Hit the striking surface with a large ball peen hammer (or equivalent) with the retaining nut slightly loosened. After the ball joint has "let go" you can remove the nut and the knuckle.

Where is a lower control arm bushing?

The lower control arm bushing would be located at the inner pivot point where the lower control arm is mounted to the frame/crossmember. Depending on your vehicle it could have one or two bushings. The outer pivot point would be your lower ball joint.
