If one rotor is in need of replacement, the other is sure to need it soon afterwards. I always replace such things in pair as a preventative maintenance issue.
depends on the condition od the pads. If worn or have groves etc from the rotors then replace.
when needing brakes do you have to replace the rotors to on a s60r
We need to know the year, make, model and front or rear rotors to answer that one. also need to know if the rotors and hubs are one piece or separate.
If you are wondering whether it is possible to replace one's own brake rotors or not because you drive an older vehicle that need brake rotors replaced, then the answer is no.
You replace rotors when they get too thin, or are warped. They may be to thin to be turned and still alright to use. Rotors do not "have to" be turned to put new pads on.
If the rotors are in good condition, not warped, not scratched, then you can replace the pads without turning the rotors. Inspect the rotors carefully.
Replace the pads, and the rotors. You need to change the brake pads and the rotors.
You don't have to unless there all bad but recommended if you do need to replace 1 front do both and vise versa
They need replaced when they wear out.
brake pads are worn to the metal rivets. You will need to replace pads and rotors. rotors are $35 each and pads are $29-59 for both left and right side.
possibly warped rotors.Feels for grooves on the rotors(when rotors are cool, your rotors should be smooth ) if you feel them you need to replace them, and dont forget to replace your pads too.Worn pads grind your rotors and ruin them.
Most of the time, you can get by with just replacing the pads. The rotors generally do not need to be turned if there is no pedal pulsation or vibration. Rotors will need to be replaced if the exceed the minimum thickness which is stamped on the web (area with lug holes).
