The vehicle manufacturer will quote a torque figure for the EGR valve but in practice most mechanics no not torque them.
IIRC they are regular bolts.
You unscrew the bolts.
The EGR Valve is located behind the intake manifold, and held by two bolts.
They are not screws they are bolts either 1omm or 13mm
The egr valve is located on the top rear of the engine. It bolts on and is easily removed.
1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable. 2. Remove accessory drive belt 3. Remove generator mounting bolts and reposition generator 4. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve. 5. Remove the 2 EGR tube bolts.1. Install a new gasket on the EGR valve.{| |- | 2. Position EGR valve to cylinder head and install the 2 mounting bolts. 3. Tighten EGR valve mounting bolts to 31 N·m (23 ft. lbs.). 4. Position EGR tube to EGR valve and install the 2 mounting bolts. 5. Tighten EGR tube mounting bolts to 13 N·m (115 in. lbs.). 6. Connect electrical connector to EGR valve. 7. Install generator mounting bolts 8. Install accessory drive belt 9. Connect negative battery cable.|}
the two bolts, one on each side of the egr valve.
The EGR valve on your Astrovan is on the backside of the intake manifold just under the throttle body attached by two bolts. After installing a new gasket be sure and torque the BOLTS to 17-18ft lbs or the NUTS (if yours has studs) to 15ft lbs)
No you do not! th egr valve is located just under the throttle body. there are 2 10mm bolts holding it in, you just need to remove air intake to the throttle body! it is directly under it!
On a 95 You must remove the upper intake the egr and the coil pack. then the 5mm Allen bolts on the covers them self. there are 10 bolts I think. you should get the valve cover kit with the spark plug seals in it. also get a upper manifold kit. to replace the all the gaskets you need. torque the bolts to spec when you replace them. and don't forget the locktite.
You need to take the air cleaner off. Then disconnect the vacuum hose going to your brake booster at the check valve point. There is a valve (EGRC-BRT) next to the EGR remome the the clamp on the braket that is holding the brake booster hose and swing it out of your way. Next you need to remove the vacuum hose from the EGRC-BRT valve and remove the valve nad the bracket that hold the vave. Now you can get to the EGR pipe which attaches to the EGR. Remove the pipe then remove the the bolts that hold the EGR valve.
It's bolted right on top of the egr valve which is on the back of the engine under the throttle body there will be a small vacuum line going into where the egr valve bolts into the intake
