Yes. You are required as stated in the handbook to complete your drive test before expiration of your permit. Also, your permit is valid for quite some time (12 months I believe), so there really isn't any reason you shouldn't have completed the drive test by then. This also includes any previously taken and failed drive tests as well I believe.
