You serve Allah (God in English) not only as Allah's servant but as Allah's slave. Being a slave to Allah, your Creator, is the way to be free from being slave to your desires, money, social status, or any thing else. Being a slave to your Creator Allah you win the Paradise in the eternal second life on behalf of false desires of the short first life.

It is the best name for prophets to be servants and slaves to Allah.

Quran says about prophet Jesus (PBUH):

Meaning English translation:

{Never would the Messiah (Jesus) disdain to be a servant of Allah, nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to Himself all together. (172)} [Quran, chapter 4, verse 172]

and says about prophet Muhammad (PBUH):

{Exalted is He who took His Servant (prophet Muhammad) by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. (1)} [Quran, chapter 17, verse 1]

Quran says also about Noah (PBUH):

{ O descendants of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah. Indeed, he was a grateful servant. (3)} [Quran, chapter 17, verse 3]

And says about the believers:

{ And when My (Allah) servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided. (186)} [Quran, chapter 2, verse 186]
