Well I look at it if you question this than not sure if it is a good idea. That is the next step to commitment, if you have to ask it then maybe you should talk to see if she is ready for the next step.

Unless she has told you she's lost her feelings for you then you are simply second-guessing and this is where communication comes in. If she has said this then I have no idea why you would offer her the promise ring. There appears to be a bigger problem here that you haven't mentioned and I believe it has something to do with commitment and marriage. I don't believe in promise rings (promise to what?) ... you are either engaged or you aren't. Sounds like she would be more delighted with an engagement ring. You'll have to figure this one out.
