This depends upon what tasks you want to use your phone for. If you only want to use your phone for emergencies such as when you get in an accident, it will probably be cheaper to get a prepaid phone to avoid having to pay monthly fees for services that you will never use. If you plan on making the phone your primary phone, or if you want to use it for data or email, then it would be cheaper to go with the package deal.
