Yes, shake the ipod to shuffle if you do not want these settings go to settings, music, then turn off shake to shuffle.
It needs charging.
No. Actually, it must be turned on to charge. If it is off, it will turn on by itself. Good luck .
There should be a little light next to the off button. Its green when the battery if fully charged, its orange when its charging/ needs charging and its red when its got very low battery. I hope this helps you :D

On the long iPod shuffles you pull the bottom off.

It either needs charging, its shut down (hold the turn on turn off button) or it doesn't work any more
Ipod shuffle speakers are environmentally friendly. They do not give off any harmful emission or anything of that nature. You can use them without feeling bad.
The switch on the top has three modes for the iPod: Off, play in order, and shuffle. The center of the switch is to play your music library in order.
On an iTouch, there is a sumbol near upper right corner that is two arrows pointing right overlapping. Hit that so that it is not blue. If you have a normal iPod, it is your fault my answer won't work because this question was under the "iPod Touch" category.
If you have a Nano, Classic, Shuffle or any iPod with the circle scroll thing in the middle, Hold the Play/Pause button until it turns off. If you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone, hold the Lock button until it says "Slide to turn power off", then slide the red button across the screen.
