Laser prints used to be all the rage in all Modeling portfolios due to pricing, some agents liked them, others not. It all comes down to like or not like, Colors are pastel, paper is flimsy and losses quality very fast if left to the elements, many printers made a fortune on the trend.
Ink-jet is truer to colors and contrast, w/a professional look and feel w/a variety of paper widths and extras to choose from.
Depending on what the job is will i decide on the paper.

Laser/LED printer and Inkjet printers for a couple.
If the vellum is rated for a laser printer, it shouldn't be a problem. You do NOT want to use inkjet paper in a laser printer, or vice-versa.
Paper used in laser printers has a specific finish that is very smooth and slick. Today, there are lots of finishes, including everything from matte to glossy. These papers cost more than the standard paper that can be used in an inkjet printer. Using the paper intended for the specific printer renders the best results. Using regular paper in a laser printer won't harm the printer, but the results will not be as crisp and clear as with paper intended for laser printers. Laser paper used in an inkjet printer won't harm the printer, but is a waste of more costly paper.
Office paper purchased for an inkjet printer can be used in any laser printer as well. The quality of the paper will affect the quality of your final printed product however.
Paper, toner if laser, ink if inkjet, inked ribbon if an impact printer.
Slowly remove the paper from the inside/rollers
Laser printers are not made to print quality photos. This is because the colors in powder form do not blend as well as the liquid color in inkjet cartridges. You also can't use photo paper in laser printers because the printer will melt it.
Inkjets normally work on less than 100 watts. Laser printers pull from 400 to 750 watts of power. I've found that laser printers impossible to use when running an ac inverter in my vehicle to power the printer.
it prints on to paper
Inkjet ink dampens paper fibers causing them to expand then contract on drying, causing curling. Laser printer ink won't do this.
Printing :) Inkjet printers use ink to make a hard copy of what you send to the printer electronically. Laser printers use something called toner. Toner is basically a powdered version of ink that is applied to paper using a laser. Laser printers are much faster than inkjet, but the quality is generally not good with pictures.
Inkjet printers do an excellent job of blending colors and are great for printing photos and documents that have a large number of images. Inkjet printers are not only less expensive than laser printers, they are also less expensive to refill and can handle a larger variety of paper.
