The term "hurricane" is used to describe strong tropical cyclones that occur in the northern hemisphere in the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean east of 180 degrees longitude.
The International Date Line passes through the Pacific Ocean. It is an imaginary line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole, mostly along the 180° longitude line.

Look for it in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
