The 96 1.8L takes a Motorcraft AGSP-32C ,039-.043 Gap
The 96 1.9L takes a Motorcraft AGSF-34EE .054 Gap
I have the same car. You can find the information if you open up the hood and look up at the underside of it. Mine was .052-.056
The spark plug gap for the 1979 Ford F250 is 0.044. This gap remains the same for the 1978 and the 1980 Ford as well.
The spark plug firing order for the Ford 4.0 L OHV and the Ford 4.0 L SOHC engines is the same ( 1-4-2-5-3-6 )
Yes, follow the wires from the spark box and you will find out where the spark plugs are.
If they are of the same model.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I am wondering if cylinders 1 and 4 come off of the same coil in the coil pack . As far as I know the coil pack has (2 coils inside ) with 4 towers for the spark plug wires
No , on the Ford Ranger 2.3 L and 2.5 L with 2 spark plugs per cylinder , 1 spark plug fires on the power stroke of the engine cylinder and the 2nd spark plug fires on the exhaust stroke of the engine cylinder to reduce emissions
No.
Yes as long as they are both the same type of Escort such as LX or Zx2.
As long as the motors are the same you should be good.
The same way for any other car. Make sure you have the proper spark plugs, wires and (as in my case, ignition coil; which usually shouldn't have to be replaced for the life of the car). DO NOT REMOVE ALL THE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES, AS YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO START YOUR CAR AGAIN UNLESS YOU KNOW THE FIRING ORDER. Do one at a time. Use a ratchet with an extension and 5/8" spark plug socket. The extension is to avoid busting up your knuckles. Please make sure your spark plug socket has a rubber gasket in the top of it, this will hold the spark plug for you. Loosen and remove. Reinstall is reversed.
i have seen a ford escort about the same year and it was near the passenger door ( in the footwell)
