Does Abruzzo have the cleanest coastline in Italy?

The province of Teramo has the some of the cleanest beaches on Ardiatic shoreline.Abruzzo along its northern coastline does most probably have more blue flags than anywhere else in Italy. There is virtually no heavy industry along the coast and none along the rivers in the Province of Teramo.This obviously helps to keep the sea clean. Also with its popular coastal resorts dating back quite a few years now the people of the towns have learnt that their selling point is the well maintained beaches,clean and sandy and their aims to be safe family resorts.

Pescara has serious problems with pollution arriving from the area of Bussi, and the Pescara valley is over industrialised, making the sea contaminated in the area where the waters from the river arrive,Ortona has several problems with industrial waste. This extends down to Vasto and even worse the outlet of the Sangro river with pollution several times the allowed limits.

So to be more specific in Abruzzo most probably Teramo the northern province has some of the cleanest beaches in Europe as well as Italy.
