Assuming you are reffering to tobacco, I've found this definitely to be true for me and a number of other people. Much of the rest of the medical community does not seem to recognize this as a side effect though. I literally smoke 3 times as many cigarettes when on Adderall.
As far as marijuana, I do not think there is a very significant change in the amount smoked while on Adderall. Increased marijuana smoking would be most likely to occur during the come down phase if at all.
From Rocket Surgeon:
Was surprised not to see any more information on the net regarding this. I can not believe how many more cigarettes I smoke when I take it. I never ever smoke two in a row, but when taking Adderall, I feel like I have to have one after another after another, like 4 in a row then maybe a 10-15min break and smoke 2, 3, or 4 more all over again. To exacerbate the issue, Adderall makes me stay up much longer than others I know (increasing the time I am smoking tenfold).
While it certainly has been very useful to my grades, not getting adequate sleep severely compromises your immune system and getting bad colds is then very common. Not only is the extremely sore throat annoying, bronchial infections and severe coughing are also common after these sessions. Smoking cigarettes by themselves also decreases immune function, so this coupled with inadequate rest is a VIP invitation for sickness.
I AGREE
ADDERALL and other similar stimulants increase ones desire to smoke! Try not taking adderall for a couple of days and see if you are smoking less... I have been trying to deal with this for a while now, no success yet. I need to be on Adderall, Ritalin, or Focalin - but they make me smoke, and I can't keep chain smoking. These drugs also make me want to drink in the evenings. (They also contribute to hair loss). I can't get any help, can't function without the drugs, and am left suffering either way. There isn't enough research on these issues! If anyone has any advice, please shout out!
Yes,but its better to smoke then pop it.
The short answer is yes. Nicotine is a stimulant. Adderall is a stimulant. If you genuinely have ADD, then it doesn't make you feel like you just took speed, but it does make your heart race faster. It's completely normal.
NO it actually makes you more hyper. It's not until after the adderall wears off that you get sleepy.
You can, but this is not a recommended method to use this drug. Please talk to your doctor for further information.
you can't smoke adderall because of all the pill base, though im not sure if you could free base it
relaxed? perhaps in as much that i am more in the now, the same now as others around me!
You don't. You shouldn't have taken the drugs.
Yes, they do me.
Do not take Adderall if you have heart disease, hardening of your arteries, high blood pressure.
no, from what I've heard, you cannot freebase or smoke Adderall XR as-is. Not saying it's not possible, but i can honestly say I've never heard of it being done.
Yes, they do.
Adderall and Vyvanse are psychostimulant prescription drugs used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity, Adderall is more commonly used than Vyvanse.
