In alot of ways, the systems share: A bicameral legislature, composed largely the same way The Separation of powers The Division of powers The systems differ fundamentally in the Executive side of things, in the US the executive (Ie. the President and Cabinet) is seperate from the Legislature, whereas in Australia the Executive is drawn from the legislature.
