no need of telephone line for LAN networking. for LAN we ethernet card and other networking devices like hub, switch. for internet connection u need telephone line
A Lan is a shared network of multiple systems. You can have a LAN which does not have Internet access and only supports Print/File Sharing. You need one router to assign IP addresses using DHCP and if more connection are required, just add switches.
To give the LAN Internet access, you need an ISP connection and a modem. The existing router then connects to the modem.
The ISP connection (today 2008) can be DSL, FiOS (over a phone line) or Cable.
A dial-up connection can be shared on a LAN, but today that is a very poor choice and would not be connected as described above.
RJ45 was designed for LAN connection only. For modem lines you need RJ11. Thus the answer is NO.
You need a LAN connection, then go under LAN tab.
Your LAN will need a router and a definition of the default gateway pointing to that router. The router will need an internet connection as well.
In order to have a phone line connection that is as fast as a Local Area Network connection, or almost as fast, you'd have to be connected via DSL. Verizon offers a really neat DSL; this is what I use to connect. DSL's connect through the Ethernet port on the back of the PC.
A land line is normally a standard telephone line connected directly to the local telephone exchange, as used for speech. To pass computer data over it (if it was not broadband enabled) you would need to use an analogue modem. LAN stands for Local Area Network - normally used to connect PCs or other devices such as printers within one location. LAN Line? Might mean the data cable from the PC back to the router. Not heard of the expression to describe a 'phone line before.
Yes. If it is a private connection then all you need is the WEP or LAN code.
LAN stands for local area network, and has nothing to do with telephone communications. LAN has 2 purposes:1.allows multiple computers to use the same internet connection,2.allows local computers to talk to each other(exmaple: sending a file from your computer to you're sister's computer)A telephone uses analog signals, a LAN uses digital signals.
It is a faxing technique where in the fax documents are sent through the hi-speed internet connection instead of the telephone lines.
It depends on your computers connection to the internet.
Your computer must be connected to the internet to view an HTML document that is located on a website. Whether that connection is through a local area network (LAN) or not. If you normally connect to the web via the LAN, then yes, you'll need to be connected to the LAN. If instead you run an adhoc network, use a direct connection to infrastructure (like a router) or a modem, then you need that connection to reach the web.
If you mean switching LAN cables when the connection is active, then the answer is yes.
This happens because it clears the Line, Reboots the lan connection and give you a good IP address.
