Does LimeWire slow down your computer?

Limewire itself does not slow down your computer, however it comes bundled with some spyware or malware applications that install in the background of your computer and use resources. Also since limewire does not police what users are sharing, many of the files that are shared on limewire are loaded with all kinds of junk such as spyware, malware, and viruses. This is not meant to pick on limewire, most if not all of the peer to peer file sharing programs suffer from these risks.

I recommend against using any peer to peer file sharing programs. I would instead purchase the items that I want via iTunes or some other online store where the files are wharehoused by the store and are known safe files.

If you insist on using a peer to peer file sharing program be sure that you have spyware, adware and virus protections in place and update them constatly.
