On September 7, 1946 Mexico's first experimental television station officially opened. This station (XEIGC) broadcasted on Saturdays, for two years, a program of artistic shows and interviews. Today, television in Mexico includes many stations, but most of them belong to TV Azteca and Televisa media networks.
There is also satellite and Cable Television, with Latin American versions of major channels found in America, such as the Discovery Channel, History Channel or HBO, FOX, ESPN and many more.
In America we receive television broadcasts through large companies such as Dish or AT&T. However, in Mexico, the main source of subscription television is from Sky Mexico.
