No. New Jersey does not get severe or non-severe earthquakes. I know this because New Jersey is not as close to the water as Japan and Mexico etc. are. So thanks for reading my answer.

Whoever wrote this answer..looks like you're wrong!! New Jersey just experienced an earthquake on 8/23/2011 at 1:54 pm. As far as I know it ran down from New Jersey to South Carolina. Could possible be bigger but that's about as much as I know.
