The trachea is your windpipe, so food shouldn't go down there. However peristalsis does help push food down the Oesophagus into the stomach.
peristalsis.... the reason why food travels through the esophagus into the stomach is that it is moved along by contractions of smooth muscle surrounding the esophagus. This is known as peristalsis
Peristalsis I think...
peristaltic movement occurs throughout the gut during the process of digestion.the buccal cavity partially digests the food and it is sent to the oesophsgus where the peristaltic movement occurs to push the partially digested food to the stomach.
Peristalsis is what its called. Im NT lying. its true.
The esophagus is the tube from pharynx to stomach.
Peristalsis. The process of peristalsis begins in the esophagus when a bolus of food is swallowed. The strong wave-like motions of the smooth muscle in the esophagus carry the food to the stomach, where it is churned into a liquid mixture called chyme.
it is because of the peristalsis
It occurs in the stomach, the esophagus and the intestines.
Peristalsis also occurs in the stomach so that it can mix the food together with stomach juices and move the partially digested food into the first part of the small intestine (known as the duodenum).

The esophagus helps move food from the mouth to the stomach through a series of coordinated muscle contractions called peristalsis. It also prevents food and fluids from going into the windpipe by closing off the trachea when swallowing.
The esophagus carries boluses of food from the mouth to the stomach.
There is a skin flap which is called the epiglottis. The epiglottis covers the trachea upon reflexes.
In alimentary canal from throat to stomach.
The name of the mechanical process that breaks up food in the stomach is known as peristalsis. During peristalsis, the muscles of the digestive system contract and relax, moving food along the gastrointestinal tract.
yes peristalsis is the wave like motion of either your esophagus pushing food( a bolus) down towards your stomach, or your small and large intestines pushing nutrients through to be processesed by the villi.
Our Oesophagus' use Peristalsis to squeeze food down into our stomach. That's all I can think of! !
