The first Sarpedon was a king of Lycia and son of Zeus and Europa; a prince of Crete who lived many generations and became a judge in the Underworld. The second Sarpedon was a hero in the Trojan war, and related to the first. The third was a son of Poseidon and a tyrant who Heracles killed.
They are both insects.
