However using an opioid one time or only occasionally is unlikely to cause problems, however testing has shown that after administering a single dose of an opioid testosterone levels droped significantly.

Anything containing opiates or opioids will result in a positive on a drug test. This includes almost all prescription painkillers (vicodin, codeine, percocet, hydrocodone, oxycontin, etc.), heroin, opium, and of course...morphine. Morphine can be detected in your urine for up to four days after consumption, while other opiates may dissipate in only one or two days.
Will vicodin and heroin read the Same on a drug test?
No. Heroin, morphine, codeine, & opium are the only drugs tested for by the standard opiate test on your typical "SAMHSA-5" (previously known as the "NIDA-5 " standardized urine test). This is because the common metabolite morphine is produced with use of the opiates mentioned above. This is not the case with most other opiates & synthetic opiates (opioids).. such as hydrocodone. Therefore the standard 5-panel urine test will not show a positive result for opiates proceeding Vicodin use. This is also true of any other type of drug test: including blood tests & hair tests. Yes, and No. I have been taking offbrand vicodin for back pain. I also drug test every week for probation. I have never tested (preliminary) positive for any drug. Hydrocodone (vicodin) does not show up in a dip stick test for some reason. Morphine almost certainly would give a preliminary positive. They would then send the sample to the lab for further gc/ms testing. They would be able to then discern the difference between the two substances after this lab test.
