Front or rear axle? The rear axle should fit up there. I am not 100% sure, but everything shoul dbe in the same location. If it the rear axle, instead of swapping it out, you should look at replacing it with a Ford 8.8, will require some welding skills or a good mechanic, but it is a way stronger axle. Or else get a Dana 44 from a new Rubicon or an older Cherokee (87-89) and swap that in. The front axle will not fit right up there. It is the same axle, the Dana 30, but a 99 (TJ) uses coil springs up front, while a 94 (YJ) is leaf springs. You would have to do one of two things. 1. Do a fron leaf spring conversion. Has it benefits, but you will loose some flex. (not too much). I like this setup better, more stable, no track bar or sway bar needed. 2. Get new spring perches welded on the axle for the coil springs. For all of your Jeep questions, check out www.jeepforum.com That will answer everything you can possible imagination.
