No, generally speaking the only civics that rolled off the factory line with a VTEC under the hood where the Si trim cars. I can't say for sure but usually a VTEC has the VTEC name on the valve cover (top of the engine).
no lx has vtec,,, no the only EX had vtec's
The Lx has the D16y7 non-VTEC engine.
1.5 non vtec!! actually it is a 1.6 D16Y7 same as a 1996 to 2000
Do you mean D15 and D16? but yes it will
regular civic 1998 from DX to LX has non vtec D series, EX has D series Vtec single cam. Si has B16 dual came Vtec
d16y7 1.6, d series non vtec
get and ex or si motor... try D16y8? i believe... that's as close to stock with vtec...
Unfortunately no. Even the higher LX, EX and Si trims were non-vtec in 1990. Here in the US market, the first models to feature vtec were the 91 NSX, the 91 Integra GSR, and the 92 Civic Si. In Japan, there was a 1990 Civic that had vtec, the Civic SiR and Civic Special Edition. In Some other markets there was a similar model, the Vti/Vti-R.
DX/LX has a D16Y7 SOHC motor and it puts out 107HP. EX has a D16Y8 SOHC VTEC motor and it puts out 127HP.
It's 115 hp, the ex has a bit more due to the vtec.
yes
Its a B16A2 DOHC VTEC
