The 2002 Honda CRV does not have a belt it has a chain which is designed to last the life of the engine.

Yes it is a belt, and the Honda engine is an "interference" engine. Factory recommendation for replacement is at 105,000 miles.

Most older Honda engines have timing belts. However the Honda 2.4L engine used in the CRV since 2002 and in the Accord since 2003 has a timing CHAIN. Yes the 2007 CRV does have a timing chain and not a belt
no. If you are unsure if you motor is an interference motor, call a parts store... have them look up the timing belt and look at the application description. if it's for an interference motor, it will generally say "interference" in the description. I'm not sure if that is a 100% way to know, but from my time working for CSK it was a pretty reliable way to check. at least for Hondas. All Honda automobile engines are interference engines up through 2002 except the 2002 CRV which has a chain. In 2003 the 4 cylinder Accord received a chain but the V6 Accord still has a cam belt and is an interference engine. The 1.7 liter Civic engine is still belt driven and is interference. Your owners manual will tell you for sure.
