No, not any of the Saturn ION's manufactured by GM have chip keys, regardless of the model year.

Hi
No. This doesn't mean any properly cut key will work though. The computers in the car are sophisticated enough to tell which metals the key is made from. The car then compares the metallurgy of the key in the ignition to the file on the computer's memory. If they match, the car will start.
i think you're a bit stuck
you can copy any key, but, if the key has a "chip" in it you will have to take it to the dealer to get a copy made. I drive a 2004 F-150 and it has a chip in it.
No. The anti theft is in the ignition not the key for that vehicle.
Yes i have a 2005 Chevy malIbu and lIst my key had to go to a dealer ship for a new one because theres a chip in it kinda spendy
No. I have both a 2001 LE and a 2005 LE. The latter has a chip inside the key, where as the 2001 doesn't.
No. Only the '07-'08 Aura, Outlook, Sky and the '06-'07 Relay use transponder chip keys
If the key is gray or has built in buttons, yes. If black with no buttons, no.
no if there is a car that has a chip in key then it should not start without one if it does then your cars censor for that is messed up
