look under your hood, up by the corner closest to the drivers door and look for a little resivior. i cant remember exactly if it says anything about the clutch on the cap, but i do know it says it calls for "DOT3."

if that little resivior is there then its a hydraulic clutch

Does a 1991 civic transmission fit in a 1993 civic?

NO. It wil bolt up to the D-series motor. However, 5th gen (1992-1995) Civics have hydro transmissions, 4th gen have cable transmissions. If you're handy with fabrication and a welder, I suppose you could make an adapter to make it work. If your talking about an automatic, then the 5th gen ECU won't be kind to your CEL.

Can you put an LS transmission to an b18b1 motor?

The question is not very clear. B18B1 have hydro trannies so therefore you CANNOT use older than 93 Integra Cable transmissions without a cable tranny conversion. Doesnt matter on the trim. You can use any 94+ B series Hydro tranny. B16 and B18

How do you swap a Honda b series motor into a 1988-1991 Honda civic?

there are a few things that need to be done to do this. first you need to make sure you have the correct shift linkage. secondly you will need to find out if your car has a hydro or cable tranny and what tranny is on the b series motor you are getting and make sure they are the same. most b series have hydros unless its from a 91 or so. your car could have either one, 88-91 is the time period Honda changed to hydro trannys. you also will need to get mounts for a 88-91 b series so the motor will fit correctly. if the motor is obd0 then you can just plug everything back up and just add a few wires but if it is obd1 then you will have convert your obd0 vehicle to work with the obd1 motor there are instructions on how to do so, and you can buy pre made harnesses. also you will need a b series ecu. other then that just swap the motors. it really is not as hard as it seems don't be discouraged get a few friends and a cherry picker and you will be able to do it in 1-2 days if you read up and prepare everything.
