Yes , on a 1996 Ford Taurus , the automatic transaxle ( transmission )
dipstick is near the firewall , where the transaxle is bolted to the rear of the
engine , towards the drivers side of the vehicle
Manual and auto have no dipstick
where can i buy a transmission dip stick for a 1995 chevy blazer
I use dexron 11 The transmission dip stick should have that info written on it.
Towards the passenger side of the engine , near the firewall
on the bottom left of the Dash........ right below the Clutch
Look for the transmission dip stick, remove it and pour stabalizer down tube.
Follow the speedometer cable to where it connects to the engine, the cable is the dipstick.
Your '96 might have a transmission dip stick (my '96 does) look near the firewall and down from the brake master cylinder. If not, stick your finger in the plug hole and see if you feel fluid. If you do, the level is good. If not, add some.
On my '96, that dipstick is located near the firewall more or less, under and to the left (when facing the firewall from the front of the car) of the master cylinder.
I know true 95's have a dipstick for the automatic transmission. I also know 96 rodeo's do not but instead have an oil check plug in the transmission oil pan. Isuzu also came out with a 95.5 because all vehichles produced halfway through 1995 legally had to have airbags. So it has the 96 interior but the engine is same as the 95. I do not know if the 95.5 had a transmission dipstick. Mine is a stick.
I couldn't find it on my '96 either at first. The dip stick is located under the large hose connected to the air filter housing. It's probably the same on a '97.
On a 1996 Mercury Sable : The automatic transaxle ( transmission ) fluid level dipstick is near the firewall and the brake fluid reservoir ( looking from the FRONT of the vehicle it is to the left of the reservoir )
