The Canadian government does not requires US residants to present a passport when entering Canada and the US government does not require a passport for its residants when returning to the US. However, the US government does now require passports for Canadians entering the US but they are not required by the Canadian government on the return trip.

What are the air travel requirements WITHIN the US States for a Canadian citizen who has already entered the USA with a valid Canadian passport through land for a visit?

There are no requirements for Canadians traveling in the US just as US citizens don't need a passport to go to Canada although that is changing. Once you enter the US, you have met all the requirements according the US Border Control and the INS. You can travel freely just as any US citizen could. Of course for flying you would need some type of government ID just as a US citizen would to board a flight.
