Does a European Wii game work on an Australian Wii console?

Yes if your wii is also from the UK, but if not: Gamecube games are region locked, but with freeloaders or homebrew you can play gamecube games from any country There was a easy way around: put a gamecube game that was from the same country as your wii, then when you press 'start' eject your disc and put the gamecube game you want to play in (you need to do it quick)

My assumption is that it would work with any tv set that supports it but if Australia uses different power plug in terminals then you need a universal converter that would plug in the American plug end of the Wii to the wall.

Radio Shack or a electronics store should carry international power converter devices.

The one near me does and I got one for 20.00 American.

I wouldn't count on it unless you had a freeloader, for two reasons:

1. Australia uses the PAL specification for TV's, 50 Hz. America uses the NTSC specification for TV's, 60 Hz.

2. Wiis have region locking.

However, there are a couple freeloaders (unofficially made region-free apps for the Wii) available which can bypass both of these. Due to my favorite one being a homebrew application, I won't post links to it due to homebrew being effectively illegal in the U.S.

The elevations in the UK are dramticilly lower then that in Australia. Taking a UK made wii into Australia will cause damage to the outer shell of the wii due to the different types of material are different in the UK wiis and Australia. after the shell starts damage elements will enter through tiny cracks in the console causing damage to the inside as well.

Yes wii's are made in china and if austrailla has a wii its a good chance they would work
