V6's have a belt.the six is a non interfearence engine which means if it breaks it is a inconvience it should be replaced about 80to 100,000 miles replace the water pump also its cheaper the price $400to $600 this covers year 02-04 tacomas 2005 has 2 timing belts do not let anyone say you have to replace belt guides or pullies timing belt and water pump is the only thing you have to worry about but replace all belts at the same time it will save money this information comes from not only myself but a Toyota service manager I had mine done at 165000 the manage told me at 80000 if it breaks you are inconvient but it doesnot break the engine mine was starting to idle rough and the belts squeeking
