The auto box on a Mercedes c180 has a dipstick to monitor fluid levels. This is important to prevent the fluid from falling to dangerous levels.
No dipstick for the auto box on a 92 525 there is a filler plug on the side of the box similar to the filler on a manual box.
Some of the car specifications of the C180 Mercedes Benz are that it is a compact executive car with a 4 cylinder 1.8 L engine. The cars were in production from 1993 to 2000.
Pour it in through the dipstick tube using a long funnel.

is it auto or manual?. On a manual there is a filler plug half way up the gearbox ( you have to check this on a hoist or on your back when you are on the grass or on your driveway), you fill the box up until oil runs out of it. If it is an Auto, there is a dipstick in the engine bay, similar to the engine dipstick. there are level marks on the dipstick that tell you whether you are low or have correct amount.
in a 4x4 auto box, drain bung is at the bottom back of box . undo this, drain oil , refit bung , refill box via gear box dipstick {slowly}
If is the 2.7 litre diesel with the four speed auto then it is on the left hand rear of the engine compartment, just behind the engine oil dipstick. If the manual box then it doesn't have a dipstick, it is a screw in plug in the side of the gearbox itself.
Hi no dipstick for auto box o 525i the gearbox is pre-packed for life, so that's one thing less to check. Regards Peter Hi no dipstick for auto box o 525i the gearbox is pre-packed for life, so that's one thing less to check. Regards Peter
Did you check the boot, beside spare wheel?
You don't specify auto or manual. If it is a manual, you remove the fill plug in the case of the gearbox and expect the oil level to be ebbing at the bottom of the fill plug or just below. Around that time the auto transmissions deleted their dipstick. If your's has a dipstick, then with the engine and trans at operating temperature, transmission in Park, and engine running, the oil should be in the "cross hatched" section of the dipstick. If your's is an auto without dipstick, then the procedure is the same as the manual trans.
It is on the front of the transmission at the right-hand side of the car, remove the dipstick with the yellow handle, that's your fill tube!
