Depends on how many miles away. The sun orbits the earth every 24 hours. So, say there were two sundials, one in Las Vegas, and the other in Salt Lake City. They both would show different times, because the sun is continuously moving to another longitude. However, two sundials on the same longitude line will show the same time always (if both are set up accurately)
No, because the earth is round and the sun points at earth so the angleat which th sun would be hitting the undail would change according to where you are standing
he made a water clock and a windmill which could grind wheat and corn
Mercury orbits the Sun every 88 days of which 58.65 days one side is daytime. At its furthest, Mercury is 70 million miles away. At it's closest, it's 46 million miles away. It is the Rosetta orbit around the Sun was the basis for Albert Einstein's "Theory of Relativity." Please refer to the attached link to read up on more about the planet Mercury.

5k represents 5 kilometers. Kilo means thousand, so you could mentally read it as "five thousand meters." The answer is 5000 m.
Yes, just don't apply pressure onto the area and they will disappear naturally. Or you can sand it down with a pumice stone and they will go away. Recommended u read an article on how to sand one away.
yes, as long as its on the same line of longitude you can use the same sundial
A sundial is a round dial with a pointer for the sun. When placed correctly it will read the time of day.
A sundial doesn't work at night. A sundial doesn't work when the sun is hidden - by clouds, buildings, etc
When the sundial is properly alligned, the pointy shadow works just like the hour hand on a clock.
The front of the building at 38 Neponset Ave., Foxboro, MA has a large beautiful sundial. At any time of day, one can read the sundial like any other to see the "sun time". If one looks at the sun dial at noon, one can read the date. The gnomon is angled towards the southeast. If you stop at the guard desk at the building, the guard/s some times have a pamphlet with history and details about the sundial that you may read. Note that "sun time" and "human clock time" often do not match. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gnomon
I read awhile back that a US military sniper hit an enemy about 2 miles or so away...

When looking to buy a radar dectector, it is useful to know the range of detection. Most radar detectors can detect upto 2.5 miles. Some better models can even read upto 8 miles away.
I don't suppose you read your question before you posted it. The answer is 3471 miles!
