Implantation

Does a week of spotting before a period prevent implantation when you know you have ovulated less than 5 days before the spotting started?

No. Spotting does not prevent implantation. It is often a symptom of implantation. An egg is viable (for fusion with a spermatoza) when the egg "drops" right up to, and including, when the period starts. So, if you had unprotected sex during your ovulation window and you have spotting, then I suggest getting a pregnancy test ... unless you had your period after the spotting events. The sequence of events that you describe tells me that you could have experienced implantation bleeding ... however, if you have not been sexually active, then this is not the case. Either way, if the spotting /bleeding changes in intensity /duration, have your Gyno check it out for you.

This looks like it could have been implantation bleeding since it was a week after you ovulated and since it was brownish in color. However, a week seems to be a long time for implantation bleeding. Perhaps it started out as implantation bleeding but then the implantation failed and you got your period.

if you havent started your periods this is what it could be. If you have started your periods and this is occurring before or after you period is about to start it could b spotting if its possible it isn't spotting i would go seek a doctors opinion answer ovulation bleeding or implantation bleeding

User Avatar

yes, it could be implantation bleeding, where the egg implants into the lining of the womb because this normally occurs when you would get your period. Take a test

User Avatar

That is definitely not implantation bleeding but could be a miscarriage or something else. If this is not normal for you, then you should see a doctor.

Hello. Yes, you could be pregnant hon. The spotting may be implantation bleeding. If it is implantation bleeding then a HPT will be negative now can will not be accurate for another 1-2 weeks. You can wait and re-test in 2 weeks and see the result then or see your doctor now for a blood test.

If you started your period you are not pregnant so there is no need to take a test. If however the period is just light spotting and not the normal flow it may be implantation and you could take a test in another 3 days.

I have a dog that is about 7 months old and she just started spotting. Yes she is on her period or "in heat".

No, I'm afraid not. If your period has started, that means that the endometrium has started to degrade and pass out of the body via the vagina. The endometrium is where the fertilised egg would implant, without it implantation cannot occur.

see a doc. asap. that is an early sign of a miscarriage. But than again everybody is different. the day of implantation also cause spotting for some women

I'm going through the exact same thing right now. My husband and I are trying and about 5 days before my period was due I started spotting (at night only) and it lasted for 2-3 days.. not sure what to think. I'm hoping that there still may be some slight chance it was implantation and that I might be pregnant. Good luck to you.

You begin spotting and/or bleeding from your vagina.

Sometimes if you are on birth control, your periods may be irregular. If you are not on birth control, you are sexually active and still have your period, than you should be fine.

Yes most definaltly but see but, you must have ovulated for you to become pregnate you may think you havent started but you could have ovulated which means the egg comes out of the floupian tube and sits in your uterus. When you have your period the egg wasnt fertilized so the blood washes the unfertilized egg out.

User Avatar

There is a possibility that you may be pregnant. The spotting that you are experiencing is what they call implantation bleeding, which is when the egg attaches itself to the walls of the uterus. If you have a missed period I would definite advise you to take a pregnancy test. Good luck!!

User Avatar

Yes. You should see a gynecologist. possibly. after ovulation the egg travels into the uterus and burrows into the lining of the uterus. for some women, implantation will cause slight bleeding or spotting called implantation bleeding. this is typically looks like pink or brownish discharge though. how many days after conception did you begin to bleed?

I've been on Cipralex for about a month now and the spotting started soon after I started taking them. Every day there's spotting, not just near ovulation time. Has yours gone away yet?

Spotting five days after a pap smear is not related to the pap smear. If the spotting continues, if you're pregnant, or if you have other symptoms, contact your health care provider.

Was it a proper period or just spotting? If it was a proper period, if it happens again, you need to speak to your doctor. If it was spotting, then it was probably because you were ovulating because many women experience spotting when they are ovulating (releasing an egg) as this occurs roughly 2 weeks after your period
