Does anxiety cause high blood pressure such as whenever I take my blood pressure it is high but since Im only 18 could I just be getting anxiety when taking it and getting false readings?

Probably not. Too little information for a good answer. Are you overweight? Could your blood pressure machine be malfunctioning. Is just your's high or does it read high for everybody. Are you "normal" readings in the high area. Don't fool around. If it's high, get it down. Lose weight. Exercise. See your Dr. for bp lowering drugs. A stroke is not a laughing matter. --Absolutely anxiety can raise blood pressure. Try sitting and relaxing for at least 5 minutes before checking it in a comfortable place. Anxiety releases adrenaline, which will raise your bp, as will exercise (even though it helps it in the long run). However, if you're calm cool and collected and your bp is still high you should definetely go see your doctor, just to be on the safe side.

The only way I can imagine getting these readings is if something is wrong with the circuit. If the circuit is off, then you get 0v on each of the readings, of course. Yes partially. I think both losing weight and getting councelling to help control your anxiety would help.
