If you are able to turn the switch to the start position then the problem lies elswhere. Try a spray lube like WD40 in it.Have the starter itself tested.
You need the key code from the dealer. The cylinder has a specific code of numbered tumblers that the dealer only can get. You'd have to describe the components you replaced. Did you use a plug and go all in one distributor or did you replace the coil, distributor, and add an electronic ignition unit? If you "fried" your ignition, it's likely you fried something else along the line too. Check all your components.

I ended up with replacing the lock cylinder it was a rather expensive part, the cheapest I found the part was for $192, most places has it for over $200, the lock and ignition cannot be replaced separately it comes as one piece. Over all I had to spend $337 to fix this condition. I drove to my local Home Depot pulled my key out and was unable to put the key back in I played with it for a few hours I sprayed WD40 into the key lock cylinder and used a paper clip in and out and finally the key went in and I had the lock replace shortly after that.
