Anyone can start a trucking company. You just have to be able to buy the supplies, hire truckers, find jobs, and take the time to make the company run well and be productive. You can also start working at an already existing company and try to work your way up to the owner position. You can become an owner of a trucking company by buying an existing company off another person. You can become an operator of a trucking company by applying to the company.
"Owner Operator Jobs" is a great online site to help anyone interested in an owner-operator trucking job.
The name Swift as used in Swift Transportation is not derived from a person's last name - the CEO and founder of Swift Transportation is Jerry Moyes, who is of no relation to Taylor Swift that I'm aware of.
Refrigerated vans for catering can be found online through catering and large trucking services. The gas in these vehicles are not very good because of the energy needed.
You can find local trucking jobs in Oklahoma City by reading your local classified ads or go online to Monster and type in key word trucking. Another source would be just asking anyone that you know if they know of a job.
You can find local information about truck jobs in Seattle by checking things such as the classifieds in the local paper or by calling and asking trucking companies if they're hiring anyone new.

Wish someone could..... I am considering attending their training classes. I do not take any illegal drugs but do take Ambien and Xanax that is prescribed by my doctor and has been for 3 years. Does ANYONE know if this will result in a failed drug test with CR England, any other trucking company or the DOT. Thank You
What makes you think Diesel fuel is not important? It is extremely important to the trucking & construction industry and anyone driving a diesel fueled vehicle.
I received an e-mail stating they had seen my resume on an employment site, and then offering an outrageous salary for a position similar to what I'm qualified for. My reply came back undeliverable. I checked their website (It's a limo company), and half of it isn't working, especially the "Contact Us" page. The next day, I received a very similar e-mail from a trucking company whose website is just like the Strolatt one...very Phishy!
Depends on the company's hiring policy. I'm sure there's a carrier out there that'll take you, but you gotta do the legwork to find out which ones. I'd suggest The Trucker's Report - it's a website which serves as a excellent resource for prospective and current truck drivers, dispatchers, load planners, and pretty much anyone else involved in the trucking industry or other industrieswhich involve trucking. They also have a forum.
