I started with Provigil which did absolutely nothing for my fatuigue. Then I switched to Adderall and guess what? My fatigue got WORSE! I took it for two days and finally had to stop. I know this sounds a little inane, but it's true. Any thoughts? Thanks! I use adderall and it works on my fatigue, but the down side is that it does not last long for me. I do not want to take much because I also suffer from severe chronic insomnia for the past 15 years. I have tried all of the psych meds and sleep aids but nothing has help. Before I started on the adderall, my fatigue was so bad that all I did was stay in bed. Litterally stayed in bed day in and day out. But when I started on the adderall I would have the energy to get up and do the things that used to do, but it only lasted for about four to five hours. So I only take it when I have to do something important and suffer when I try to go to sleep. I did use chloral hydrate several years ago for insomnia but that is hard to fine since they have came up with new benzos and hypnotics.

Amphetamines are not FDA approved to treat chronic pain or fatigue, but they are commonly abused for treating sleep deprivation. When Amphetamines are abused purely for curing symptoms of depressive and sleep disorders, the abuser would avoid insufflating or injecting of said amphetamines. Longer acting D-amphetamine metabolite stimulants such as Adderall Xr or Vyvanse are usually preffered, although re-dosing small amouts of Adderall IR or Amphetamine salts though out the day is not uncommon.

CAUTION: STATE AND/OR FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS THE TRANSFER OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES TO ANY PERSON OTHER THAN THE PERSON FOR WHOM IT WAS PRESCRIBED.

Abusing prescription stimulants is dangerous and can cause Severe dyspnea(shortness of breath), tachycardia (rapid heartrate) and cardiac arrest.

Check with your doctor before using prescription medications especially those with high risks for dependence and potentially life threatening side effects.

When to administer Adderall?

The "straight up" (legal) answer would be: Administer Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts or MAS) only to the person to whom it is prescribed, exactly as prescribed. Adderall is a "schedule II" drug, and as such, it is illegal for anyone to take or possess it if it is not prescribed to them unless that person is responsible for administering it to a minor prescribed the medication.

Anyone have chronic muscle pain and fatigue after eating food?

I'm researching the same symptoms and in my wanderings, I've seen plenty of references to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. As I am at the beginning of my search and have yet to see a doctor, I won't put much here in regards to that, except that it seems to be badly triggered by a high carb/sugar meal. There are other symptoms as well. You might want to check it out.

Lyme disease connections to chronic fatigue syndrome?

Lyme Disease Often Missed as a Cause of Chronic Fatigue SyndromeLyme disease is caused by a spiral shaped bacteria (spirochete) called Borrelia burgdorferi. They can be transmitted by tics, but also by mosquitoes. The spirochets have been called "the great imitators" because they can mimic virtually any disease, which is why they are often misdiagnosed. Anyone with chronic illness and especially those with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia need to consider Lyme disease as the cause.Patients with chronic Lyme disease most commonly have fatigue, joint and muscle pain, sleep disorders and cognitive problems (brain fog). In addition, infection with Borrelia often results in a low grade encephalopathy (infection of the brain) that can result in depression, bipolar disorder, panic attacks, numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, twitching and is associated with neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, dementia such as Alzheimer's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease). In addition, this infection often results in hormonal deficiencies, abnormal activation of coagulation and immune dysfunction, which potentiate the symptoms. Patients with chronic Lyme disease often complain of "strange" or "weird" symptoms that cannot be explained even after going to numerous doctors and often results in the patient being told that it must be psychological.
