Atoms are matter, and all matter has mass. In that light, any (and every) atom has mass. Different atoms of different elements have different masses, as you would expect. As atomic numbers increase, the Atomic Mass of an atom increases, but we also need to account for the different isotopes of different elements. Isotopes are different "configurations" of the same element where there are different numbers of neutrons in the nucleus. This gives rise to different masses for different elements, and also for different isotopes of the elements.

How many Helium-atoms and Carbon-atoms do you have if you have He-atoms with mass of 40amu and C-atoms with mass of 120amu?

Mass of 1 Helium atom is 4 amu and mass of 1 Carbon atom is 12 amu. So there are 10 helium atoms and 10 carbon atoms

Is fusion nuclear decay or nuclear synthesis?

Fusion is nuclear synthesis, combining atoms of lesser mass into atoms of greater mass. Decay is reducing the mass of larger (unstable) atoms to form atoms of lesser mass.

What is the mass of x atoms of sulfur?

What is the mass of 4.9810e21 platinum atoms?

The mass of 4.9810e21 platinum atoms is 0,000 042 g.

What Make up 50 percent of the atomic mass of the nucleus?

Well, this is not exact, but smaller atoms have about the same number (and mass) of neutrons and of protons. Heavier atoms have a larger percentage of their mass in neutrons.Well, this is not exact, but smaller atoms have about the same number (and mass) of neutrons and of protons. Which would have a higher mass a mole of K atoms or a mole of Au atoms?

A mole of Au atoms would have a higher mass compared to a mole of K atoms because gold (Au) atoms have a larger atomic mass than potassium (K) atoms. The molar mass of a substance is determined by adding the atomic masses of the individual atoms in the mole.

What tells you how heavy an element's atoms are compared with atoms of other elements?

The atomic mass of an element tells you how heavy its atoms are compared with atoms of other elements. Atomic mass is the average mass of an atom of an element, taking into account all its isotopes and their abundance.

Which element in each pair has atoms with a larger atomic mass?

Carbon vs. Oxygen: Oxygen has atoms with a larger atomic mass. Sodium vs. Magnesium: Magnesium has atoms with a larger atomic mass. Phosphorus vs. Sulfur: Sulfur has atoms with a larger atomic mass.

Are atoms part of mass?

they are not part of mass... they are the reason there's mass

What does adding a nuetron to an atoms nucleus do to the atoms mass?

Since a neutron has mass, adding a neutron to an atomic nucleus increases the atom's mass.

Does mole of carbon atoms have a different mass than a mole of sulphur atoms?

Yes. To find out the mass of a mole of atoms of any given element, see the atomic mass given on the periodic table. A mole of carbon atoms has a mass of 12.011 grams. A mole of sulfur atoms has a mass of 32.06 grams.
