Yes. Audi has been a subsidiary of Volkswagen since 1964. In fact, for years VW and Audi have shared the same platform across several models. The Audi V8, A8 and VW Phaeton are the same D Series platform. The Audi Q7 and VW Touareg both use the same PL71 platform. The Audi 80, 90, A4 and the VW Passat all share the same B Series platform. The Audi A3, TT and the VW Golf, Jetta, Eos, Tiguan, Touran, and the new Scirocco all use the A Series platform. This is VW's most used platform and is why VW enthusiasts refer to generations of cars as "A1", "A2", etc. The current platform is "A5". Most of these shared platform cars are made in the same factories.
Skoda is now part of the VW/Audi group but are not assembled in Germany although many parts are of VW/Audi origin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0koda_Auto
