Like many working dogs, Australian Blue Heelers have high energy levels and active minds. The breed is one of the most intelligent dogs ranked by obedience command trainability. Blue Heelers Dogs need plenty of exercise, companionship and a job to do, so non-working dogs need to participate in dog sports, learning activites, or other activities that engage their body and mind.
When at home, Blue Heelers are happy, affectionate, and playful pets. However, they are reserved with strangers and naturally cautious in new situations. They are good with older, considerate children, but are known to herd people by nipping at their heels, particularly younger children who run and squeal.
Yes but mostly they get along with older kids
Not really. Blue heelers can be pretty vicious if they are not treated right.
All Labs are good for kids. they are family dogs, and if you introduce them when the dog is young, and will even get along with a cat.
Blue heeler. We have a blue heeler/bc mix and she is the best dog we've ever owned. Smart, loves people, is gentle with kids, and a very fast learner.
While there is no one best kind of dog to be around kids, there are many kinds of dogs that get along well with children. Some of these are Golden Retrievers or Poodles. More dogs that get along well with kids can be found at http://dogs.about.com/od/dogbreeds/qt/dogsforkids.htm
Defiantly! The reason labs are the most popular dogs in the U.S. is because they get along great with cats and kids.
hot dogs, Armour hot dogs, the dogs kids love to bite
No. Rabbits have Kits, dogs have puppies. GOATS have Kids.
yes mom dogs have kids but they are called puppys
Boston Terrier Basset Hound Sorry, there really is not a lot of dogs like that. That is unique information.
It's mostly based on your opinion but Bernese Mountain Dogs and Golden Retrievers are both gentle dogs and get along with children very well.
labradors are preatty smart dogs. They make a great companian and are great guide dogs.
I have a golden retriever and me and my family are thinking about getting a Weimararner. Weimararners are calm, friendly dogs and are kind to kids and dogs. Hope this helps but check on a proper dog website to be extra sure :)
We had a blue heeler - kelpie cross once. An extremely attentive and most intelligent dog, and amazing with young kids (which I was at the time). I used to lock him in the cupboard, hide somewhere in the house, whistle, and he would come and find me. We played this game for hours and hours at a time. We lived in a house in suburbia, with a garden. This was not enough for the dog, which is a sheep-dog by breeding, and requires large open fields, and kilometers of running around each day to let out its energy. The dog we allowed out onto the street in desperation to let her let off energy. She was eventually run over. In short, great breed. Needs lots of excercise or life on a farm if you are willing to take it.
