Bottled water has usually been interfered with too much. Just use tap water that has the chlorine removed. That's what the vast majority of aquarists use very successfully.

No, you cannot use bottle water for your fighting fish....it has to be drinking water, but not out of a water bottle, due to the additives and the filthering process.

Can fish breath in Coca Cola?

No. Cola is full of CO2. Fish need to extract oxygen from the water using their gills. There are not enough free oxygen atoms in cola.

Why does a fish die on land where enough oxygen is present than in water?

Because they're gills have adapted to collect oxygen from underwater<3

Do tadpoles get oxygen from the air or from the water like fish?

Tadpoles get oxygen from water like fish do.

Where a Fish gets its oxygen?

Fish use their gills to filter oxygen from the water. However, if the water is stagnant enough they are unable to get oxygen and suffocate(this is why most fish can't live in puddles or small ponds). Some fish have a labyrinth organ that basically acts as a human lung, so they can breathe both air and underwater and don't have to worry about this(such as betta fish).

Why did the fish died with cold water?

Because they don't enough oxygen to breath. They are not used to swim in cold waters.

How do fish breath in oxygen under water?

Fish "breathe" the dissolved oxygen out of the water using their gills. It turns out that extracting the oxygen is not very easy -- air has something like 20 times more oxygen in it than the same volume of water. Plus water is a lot heavier and thicker than air, so it takes a lot more work to move it around. The main reason why gills work for fish is the fact that fish are cold-blooded, which reduces their oxygen demands. Warm-blooded animals like whales breath air like people do because it would be hard to extract enough oxygen using gills. Humans cannot breathe underwater because our lungs do not have enough surface area to absorb enough oxygen from water, and the lining in our lungs is adapted to handle air rather than water. However, there have been experiments with humans breathing other liquids, like fluorocarbons. Fluorocarbons can dissolve enough oxygen and our lungs can draw the oxygen out.

How do fish absorb oxygen from water?

Fish can absorb water by the gills

How do tropical fish get oxygen?

Like most other fish they suck oxygen rich water through their mouth and force it out of their gills located on their head and the oxygen is absorbed through the gills hope it was a good enough answer.I have a 75-gallon aquarium with six Gourami. these are known as labyrinth fish. This type of fish not only receive oxygen from the water but can also receive oxygen from the atmosphere. This is why you see them rising to the surface receiving a gulp of air.

Why do fish come to surface in an aquarium?

This is normal for a great many fish. In nature there is often food at the surface (bugs and such). It can also mean that there is not enough oxygen in the water. If the fish are starved for oxygen they will look elsewhere for oxygen. They will put their mouth at the surface and open and close it. It almost looks like they're trying to blow bubbles. If this is the case, get an air pump and aerator and put it in the water. The bubbles flowing through the water will add oxygen to the water.
