As far as I have seen, people tend to get gum stuck in their hair if they fall asleep with gum in their mouths. Then, while they're sleeping, the gum falls out of their mouths and they roll over onto the gum. As they sleep, the gum tangles in the hair and becomes thoroughly stuck.
peanut butter i know its gross but it works Rubbing the hair with an ice cube will work as well and not make as much of a mess as peanut butter.
