heterotrophs eat other organisms because they can not make their own food. so they obtain their energy by braking down their food to a simpler state through the process of respiration so yes heterotrophs preform respiration

Yes, both autotrophs and heterotrophs go through cell respiration; they differ in the way that they obtain their energy. Autotrophs are able to make their own energy from a source such as sunlight, where as heterotrophs obtain their energy from sources that they consume, such as glucose. The only differ in how they first obtain the energy.

Cellular respiration occurs in both autotrophs and heterotrophs. It is the process by which the cell creates a form of energy that it can use.

What is the difference between autotrophs and heterotrophs in terms of whether the cells perform photosynthesis and or cellular respiration?

Autotrophs perform both respiration and photosynthesis. Heterotrophs perform only respiration

What organisms use Cellular Respiration?

Both autotrophs (plants) and heterotrophs (animals) use Cellular Respiration to break the organic compounds (produced by Photosynthesis) into simpler molecules and release energy.Bacteria, fungi, and archaea also use Cellular Respiration.animals only

Difference beteween autotrophy and a heterotroph?

Heterotrophs cannot make their own food and, thus, depend on autotrophs for food by directly eating plants (herbivores) or indirectly (carnivores eat herbivores/meat only - and omnivores eat both meat and plants). Autotrophs go through both photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Heterotrophs only go through cellular respiration and cannot photosynthesize.

Is a cell a heterotrophic or autotrophic?

Autotrophs produce their own food/energy from sunlight. (or some called chemotrophs can get it from heat and chemicals such as certain organisms in deep sea heat vents) Heterotrophs must get food/energy from other heterotrophs or autotrophs. (Cellular respiration) So, a cell capable of photosynthesis or chemiosynthesis is autotrophic... all others are heterotrophic.

Hire are photosynthesis and cellular respiration related?

Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are related since they both need each other to work. Both are in autotrophs, both use the electron transport chain, and they use the same equation.

Why would a cell need to do photosynthesis and cell respiration?

An autotroph such as a photosynthetic cell produces it's own food. Once produced through photosynthesis, the food needs to be used as in cellular respiration. Hetertroph, such as animals do not produce their own food. They must consume the food produced by the autotrophs or consume the heterotrophs that have consumed the food produced by the autotrophs.

What is reverse of photosynthesis cellular respiration?

The reverse of photosynthesis is cellular respiration.

Why cellular respiration is dependent on photosynthesis?

Because the main fuel of cellular respiration, glucose, ultimately is produced by plants that preform photosynthesis. Even carnivorous heterotrophs, metabolizing protein and lipids, must depend on herbivores eating the plants directly.

The cells of a redwood tree require oxygen for the process of?

Cellular Respiration

Do earthworms perform photosynthesis and cellular respiration?

They perform cellular respiration but not photosynthesis.

How does the equation for cellular respiration compare with the equation for photosynthesis?

The equation for cellular respiration is C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy. The equation for photosynthesis is 6H2O + 6CO2 + Light Energy -> C6H12O6 + 6O2. Cellular respiration does not require light energy, and photosynthesis does.

What are Heterototrophs?

organisms that are unable to produce food by themselves. Plants are not heterotrophs, they on the other hand are autotrophs. The word hetero means other and troph means feeder. Auto means self. Heretrotrphs often produce energy by cellular respiration (the opposite of photosynthesis)
