Not usually. You can't go by what antibiotic you might have lying around the house - that's why you see a doctor. The doctor looks up what bacteria are causing your infection and picks the right antibiotic to cure that infection. You need to take ALL of the antibiotics when you get them, too, not leave some left over. If you have some Cipro lying around you need to throw it out because it's not going to be enough to cure anything you might possibly get in the future.
