Who is Deidara in Naruto?
Deidara is the youngest member of the Akatsuki. In his days as a shinobi of Iwagakure, he received high praise for his clay sculptures. However he still desired more. Deidara stole a kinjutsu that allows him to knead chakra with materials like his clay. This created the mouths on his palms. By violating the law, he became a missing ninja of Iwagakure. He then helped numerous countries as a terroist bomber. The Akatsuki caught sight of him, and Pain ordered Itachi Uchiha, Sasori, and Kisame Hoshigaki to recruit him. Itachi made a bet with Deidara, saying if he lost, he would have to join Akatsuki. If Deidara won, he would leave him alone. Deidara was easily defeated by Itachi's Sharingan and joined Akatsuki. Deidara then curses the Sharingan, Itachi, and Sasuke, saying that the Sharingan mocks his art. In one last attempt to kill Sasuke, Deidara then uses his suicidal CO technique. By undoing the stitched mouth on his chest, he is able to make it eat some Exploding Clay. This mouth has a direct connection with his heart. The explosive chakra then flows through his veins, and then the veins condense into a sphere. The sphere opens up and explodes, killing anyone within a 10 kilometer radius. However, in an attempt to save his own life, Sasuke summons Manda and controls him with his Sharingan. Sasuke hides in Manda's mouth, making Manda take nearly all the damage. This leads Deidara's death to be in vain. Manda then berates Sasuke for controlling him before Manda dies. When Pain hears of Deidara's death, he says that this is a major loss to Akatsuki and orders the members to mourn for him. Despite his defection from Iwagakure, he still earned some respect from the high ranking villagers. Ōnoki also seemed displeased that Sasuke could defeat Deidara. Later, when Kabuto meets up with Madara, Kabuto uses Summoning: Impure World Resurrection with Itachi, Deidara, Sasori, Kakuzu, and Nagato. (Deidara's reason for joining Akatsuki is "Whim".)
